Repeat Presidential Election, 7 and 21 December 1997, Serbia
- The Presidential Election from September 21 and October 5, 1997 could not be validated due to a less than a 50% voter turnout and was re-scheduled for December 7, 1997. In order to monitor the rerun, the OSCE / ODIHR deployed a Technical Assessment Team on November 15.

National Assembly Election, 22-23 November 1997, Bosnia and Herzegovina
- In accordance with Article III, 2. (e) of Annex 3 of the General Framework Agreement for Peace (the Dayton Agreement), the OSCE/ODIHR continued its observation role and extended the presence of its already established Election Observation Mission for the Municipal Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina to include the observation of the Republika Srpska National Assembly Election.

Presidential Election, 5 and 19 October 1997, Montenegro
- In accordance with the invitation from the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Montenegro, OSCE/ODIHR observed the 5 October Presidential Election in the Republic of Montenegro and the subsequent second round held on 19 October.

Parliamentary and Presidential Elections, 21 September and 5 October 1997, Serbia
- Upon receipt of an official invitation from Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the OSCE/ODIHR deployed an Election Observation Mission to observe the 1997 parliamentary and presidential elections.

Municipal Elections, 13-14 September 1997, Bosnia and Herzegovina
- In accordance with Article III, 2. (e) of Annex 3 of the General Framework Agreement for Peace (the Dayton Agreement), the OSCE/ODIHR established an Election Observation Mission in May, to assess the Municipal Elections on 13-14 September in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
