The study provides an analytical overview of women’s participation in 2012 parliamentary elections in Armenia. It was prepared by the Gender Studies Centre of the Association of Women with University Education, with support from the OSCE Office in Yerevan and with the financial contribution from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tbilisi.
Nubarashen Site Assessment and Feasibility Study

The report introduces the outcomes of a study of the obsolete pesticides and persistent organic pollutants in the Nubarashen burial site, located near Yerevan, and their impact on the environment. It also includes potential scenarios for site remediation. The project was implemented by the OSCE Office in Yerevan and the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations, with funding from the US Government. The feasibility study and the assessment of environmental and health risks was conducted by Tauw, a Dutch company.

On 6-7 September 2012, the OSCE Gender Section hosted an expert roundtable focusing on the significant barriers faced by women from migrant, minority and Roma and Sinti communities in relation to social, economic and political integration. The report consolidates the recommendations from the roundtable and identifies potential actions and next steps for participating States, civil society and OSCE structures towards strengthening women from migrant, minority and Roma and Sinti communities to act as agents of change, as well as includes a a summary of the roundtable sessions, recommendations and examples of best practices highlighted by the participants.

The overall objective of the “Best Practices for Roma Integration (BPRI)” project is to contribute to the integration of Roma minorities in the Western Balkans, in accordance with the beneficiaries’ commitments as OSCE participating States and perspective members of the European Union. This report intends to contribute to this overall objective by providing a situation anal¬ysis of the housing conditions of Roma in the Western Balkans and by documenting good learning practice on legalization of land and buildings, upgrading of (informal) Roma settlements and the provision of social housing.
