Protecting critical infrastructure and vulnerable targets against terrorist attacks
The terrorist threat to critical infrastructure and vulnerable targets is among the most serious security challenges facing the international community today – and it is ever evolving. The OSCE Action against Terrorism Unit supports its participating States to improve the security and resilience of particularly vulnerable targets against this threat.
Through awareness-raising and capacity-building activities, the OSCE promotes co-operation at all levels, including with the private sector, as appropriate. It provides a platform for exchanging good practices on preparedness for terrorist attacks.
The OSCE Action against Terrorism Unit also assists participating States in implementing relevant international commitments, including United Nations Security Council Resolution 2341 (2017) on critical infrastructure protection and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2396 (2017) on strengthening the resilience of ‘soft’ targets against terrorist attacks.
