OSCE Secretariat
Support to field operations
The Organization’s field operations in South East and Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia play a central role in the OSCE’s activities in all phases of the conflict cycle. The Conflict Prevention Centre monitors political developments in the field and ensures the information flow between the field and the Secretariat. The Centre also provides the field operations with advice on programmatic, policy, and management issues. It co-ordinates all operational aspects of the establishment, restructuring, or closure of field operations and implements common operational and organizational practices such as the debriefing of senior officials at the end of their service. The CPC sets up and carries out projects for the destruction and stockpile management of weapons and ammunition as well as on non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, often working together with field operations.
