OSCE trains youth to prevent human trafficking
From 25 to 27 October 2023, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (the Office) organized a three-day training of trainers on combating trafficking in human beings. The training brought together 20 young people (eight men and 12 women) from Dushanbe.
During the training, the participants improved their understanding of the signs, risks, and forms of human trafficking and how gender inequalities and stereotypes may lead to human trafficking. They also learned how to carry out awareness-raising activities on the topic, including through peer-to-peer learning.
The training course aimed at preparing future young trainers who will be supported by the Office to carry out workshops in the regions to raise awareness of, and thus prevent human trafficking among youth. This initiative is part of OSCE’s broader efforts to empower youth and engage them in anti-trafficking activities in Tajikistan.
