Strengthening capacity of law enforcement and border security agencies
1 November 2017
The OSCE Programme Office in Astana is committed to strengthening the capacity of national law enforcement and border security agencies in addressing transnational threats. In particular, it focuses on helping Kazakhstan counter and prevent violent extremism and radicalization that lead to terrorism (VERLT), cybercrime, and ensuring the implementation of legal frameworks on human trafficking and domestic violence, promoting human rights and fundamental freedoms and fostering gender mainstreaming. A special focus is placed on enhancing experts’ co-operation across agencies and with international organizations in the region and beyond.
