An OSCE Central Asian regional conference on strengthening law enforcement co-operation in combating trafficking in human beings, co-organized by the Programme Office in Dushanbe and the Programme Office in Astana, in co-operation with the Office of the OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, was held on 4 and 5 October 2022 in Astana.

From 26 to 30 September, the OSCE Mission to Montenegro organized three training courses for police officers in Bar, Kolašin and Podgorica on how to conduct interviews with victims of human trafficking, using a Guidance with standardized set of questions to ensure their rights are respected.

OSLO, 8 September 2022 – Valiant Richey, OSCE Special Representative for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, concluded his four-day visit to Norway today. He highlighted the country’s progress made in establishing specialized institutions to protect child victims of crime and noted a need for update of the anti-trafficking strategy and improved national co-ordination of victim assistance.

Participants of a two-day regional conference “Countering online Child Exploitation in Southeast Europe”, organized by the OSCE Mission to Montenegro on 5 and 6 September 2022 in Budva, shared approaches and experiences and committed to improve their regional co-operation in providing an effective response to online sexual exploitation of children.

Acting Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe, Tea Jaliashvili met the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Muzaffar Huseynzoda on 12 August 2022 to discuss areas of co-operation.

On July 26, 2022 in anticipation of World Day against Trafficking in Persons, a press café was held in Bishkek for media representatives and leading bloggers of the country to inform the society about issues related to the combat against trafficking in persons in Kyrgyzstan.

VIENNA, 18 July 2022 – While OSCE participating States made a steady progress in combating trafficking in human beings, more work needs to be done to scale-up their responses both at policy and practice levels, the OSCE 2021 Survey Report says. The main findings were presented at the event organized by the Office of the OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings in Vienna today.
