OSCE Mission in Kosovo helps improve broadcasting for communities
The OSCE Mission in Kosovo organized a workshop on programme quality for Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK) directors, editors and journalists on 24 to 25 March 2012 in Prevallë/Prevalac. The aim was to analyse current programmes provided in the Serbian, Bosnian, Turkish and Roma and offer recommendations for their improvement.
The recommendations call for more news stories addressing specific community issues, increased co-operation and exchange of stories between RTK and private TV stations working in local communities, and an update of archive materials, TV graphics and RTK web pages.
The event also included training on story writing, interviewing, TV production and editorial decision making.
The OSCE Mission in Kosovo is mandated with democratization and human and communities’ rights protection and promotion. It is helping RTK develop and improve its non-Albanian language programming including TV debates and short feature documentaries.
