OSCE organizes study visit on readmission for Kazakhstan officials
The OSCE Programme Office in Astana and the European Union’s Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA) organized a study tour to Riga, Latvia from 8 to 11 November 2016 for four officials from the Internal Affairs Ministry and National Security Committee on irregular migration management and readmission procedures.
The visit aimed to familiarize the delegation with best practices in the area of irregular migration management by building the capacity of relevant government officials, addressing migrants return policy procedures and administering the asylum application system.
The officials visited the Headquarters of the State Border Guard of Latvia, the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs in Riga and the Daugavpils Regional Office of the State Border Guard where they met local officials and discussed interagency co-operation opportunities between the two countries.
The visit is a part of the Office’s long-standing activities intended to enhance the host country’s border security and efficient labour migration management practices.
