OSCE-supported international conference promotes policies for combatting corruption in Kazakhstan
An OSCE-supported international conference on modern anti-corruption policies took place on 11 December 2015 in Astana, Kazakhstan, bringing together some 70 representatives from government agencies, civil society, embassies and international organizations.
The event was organized by the OSCE Programme Office in Astana in close partnership with the State Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption Agency, the Foreign Ministry, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Transparency International – Kazakhstan.
Participants reviewed state anti-corruption policies in the context of the ongoing institutional and legal reforms.
The Anti-Corruption Agency highlighted the development of an OSCE-supported anti-corruption risks toolkit, as well as their work on strengthening education and creating new mechanisms in combating corruption as key priority areas to further foster good governance. Speakers emphasized the importance of co-operation and noted the need for supporting education at academic institutions.
This event builds on the efforts of the Office’s multi-year activities in the field of good governance and combatting corruption in the host country.
