OSCE Mission-sponsored documentary on refugees to be aired on Croatian TV

ZAGREB, 24 March 2004 - Croatian Television (HTV) will air this week an independent documentary series on the return of refugees to the country.
"Somebody's Land" was filmed and produced by the Serb Democratic Forum (SDF) and financed by the OSCE Mission to Croatia.
The series focuses on the war-affected areas and the lives of people living there. It also for the first time provides the Croatian public with an insight into the life of refugees in collective centres in Serbia.
"The Mission decided to fund the documentary series recognising that it was not only of interest to the refugee population and Bosnian Croat settlers, but also to Croatian society as a whole," said Head of Mission, Ambassador Peter Semneby. "The issues raised in "Somebody's Land" are important in the context of Croatia's European integration processes."
The SDF engaged independent Croatian journalists for the programme to stimulate both Serb returnees and Bosnian Croat settlers, who share the same or similar problems, to work together to find adequate solutions.
The four-part documentary series, which was filmed last Autumn, will be televised daily on HTV2, from Thursday, 25 March to Sunday, 28 March at 13:15.
