OSCE Centre in Tashkent promotes youth entrepreneurship
TASHKENT 17 February 2005
TASHKENT, 17 February 2005 - The OSCE Centre in Tashkent today signed a co-operation agreement with the National Youth Social Movement KAMOLOT and its affiliated Youth Business School on implementation of a year-long joint project entitled "Entrepreneurial Training for Youth - Phase I/Phase II".
Eighteen training courses will be held, covering all provinces of Uzbekistan.
During a first phase, young potential entrepreneurs will be briefed about the major elements of entrepreneurship while a second phase will introduce them to the practical aspects of running a business. The training will include visits to successful companies.
The OSCE Centre will hire expert trainers with a practical business background to conduct the training programme.
Participants will be encouraged to develop one of their ideas into a business plan, which will then be evaluated by the trainers/experts group. The three best business plans will be recommended for funding - at zero or low interest rates - to the local commercial bank.
