Future lawyers of Uzbekistan attend OSCE Centre training on human rights
TASHKENT 10 August 2004
TASHKENT, 10 August 2004 - The OSCE Centre in Tashkent and the American Bar Association launched a summer school for 24 law students to enhance practical legal skills of future lawyers.
The 12-day training programme in Charvak, which started on Sunday, will also help to improve young academics in critical thinking and analysis.
With the start of the Bulgarian Chairmanship of the OSCE in 2004, education has been increasingly prioritized. For the Human Dimension section of the OSCE Centre in Tashkent, this priority has translated into work with law faculties to promote the rule of law and other OSCE principles and commitments.
This course will also be an opportunity for trainers, who have been trained by the OSCE Centre and the American Bar Association on interactive teaching methodology in July, to practice their new skills together with international experts at the summer school.
