Third anti-corruption seminar in Ukraine

KYIV, 16 October 2001 (OSCE) - The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine held the third seminar on "Strategies in the Fight against Corruption" on 15 and 16 October, in cooperation with the country's Public Prosecutor General.
Approximately 65 representatives from five oblast prosecutor's offices, state tax administration investigation units, special security services and militia divisions specializing on the fight against corruption were attending the conference in Donetsk.
Foreign and Ukrainian experts from the Ministry of Interior Academy and the Prosecutors Training Institute presented information on witness protection, money laundering, investigative journalism and application of criminal code to corruption investigations in Ukraine.
The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine and two foreign experts were given the opportunity to present OSCE activities in the anticorruption sphere and international experience in this area to 200 members of the Donetsk Prosecutor Office.
