KYIV 12 July 2001
KYIV, 12 July 2001 (OSCE) - The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine in co-operation with the country's Public Prosecutor General will hold on 16 and 17 July a seminar on Corruption Investigation and Prevention Strategy in Lviv.
This will be the second anti-corruption seminar carried out by the OSCE and the General Prosecutor's office in Ukraine. It is expected that a total of 60 participants will attend the meeting, among them prosecutors from the western regions of Ukraine, representatives of the country's security service, the taxation police and the University of Lviv.
Anti-corruption experts from the United States, Hungary and Lithuania have been invited as guest speakers to share their experience with the Ukrainian participants.
The seminars are part of a project carried out by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine together with the General Prosecutor's Office, which aims at familiarizing prosecutors with up-to-date knowledge and international experience in the fight against corruption. Three correlated activities are at the core of the project: the creation of a database and information network via the Internet; an analytical study on international experience and practice of the fight against corruption; and the dissemination of international experience in this field through regional seminars.
