Gender Equality in Justice

The publication presents the results of "Research on Gender Discrimination in the Professional Environment of Advocates and Judges" based on the analysis of questionnaires filled in April - June 2015 by the participants of the trainings on the application of the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights. The publication offers an overview of existing legal framework, with emphasis on key international legal acts and laws of Ukraine on ensuring gender equality and non-discrimination. It also presents analysis of the forms of statistical reporting with regard to availability of gender-segregated data and national courts’ practice in cases on gender discrimination; it also outlines relevant case-law of the European Court of Human Right. The publication provides recommendations for judges and advocates on implementation of the principle of gender equality in their work.
