Women as agents of change: OSCE Mission and UN Women discuss peace and security agenda in Ukraine

  • Presentation by women’s organizations which shared information on the key gender equality concerns in relation to conflict and its impact on women and girls, and men and boys. Participants discussed an urgent need for provision of psychosocial assistance to survivors of sexual and gender-based violence in relation to conflict, and for ex-combatants both women and men. On 29 October 2015 in Kyiv, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine together with UN Women organized an information sharing meeting on Women, Peace and Security Agenda in Ukraine.

The meeting was dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the adoption of the UN Security Council Resolution on Women, Peace and Security #1325. It aimed at identifying the civil society organizations’ needs in Ukraine and opportunities to implement the  principles of the resolution.
