#16Days – Take a stand!
Worldwide, one in three women have experienced physical or sexual violence, yet according to recent studies, only 4% of women report such issues to the police. Whether in public or in private, at home, in the workplace, or along migration routes: violence against women is a global pandemic which knows no social, economic, or national boundaries. In times of peace and war, violence against women remains one of the most widespread human rights violations around the globe – including in the OSCE area.
The OSCE, in its firm commitment to the right of all women to live a life free from violence and abuse, is again participating in the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign this year. Starting on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and running through to 10 December, International Human Rights Day, we will share with you all the ways in which the OSCE takes a positive stand against violence.
Come join our conversation!. Read, like and share the stories, infographics and short videos we’ll be posting on our social media channels during the next #16Days and send us your best shots! #TakeaStand to #orangetheworld #endVAW #16days
