Tajik law enforcement officers complete OSCE-organized crisis management training
Twenty-four officers from Tajik law enforcement agencies completed OSCE crisis management training in Dushanbe on 7 February 2014. The event is part of a series of training courses aimed at capacity development of Tajik border related agencies within the Border Management Unit 2014 activities.
During the five-day training, conducted at the OSCE Office in Dushanbe, twenty-four officers from State Committee of National Security of Tajikistan, Tajik border troops, Tajik Customs Service, Committee of Emergency Situation, the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs learned about current and historical crises, disaster and risk management concepts. The training also introduced four phases of emergency management, while highlighting issues concerning communication, business continuity planning and international disaster programs. The training was delivered by crisis management expert from CEDARthree Limited, London.
During the graduation ceremony, Ambassador Markus Mueller, the Head of the OSCE Office in Tajikistan said: “The Office in Tajikistan is helping to improve the capacity building of Tajik border and security agencies by developing their management skills during crisis situations, in order for the crisis response to be well coordinated and professional. The training has been conducted as part of the successful implementation of the Tajik National Border Management Strategy."
