OSCE Mission to Skopje supports national efforts to assist street children
The OSCE Mission to Skopje is holding a series of one-day regional workshops to promote co-operation between the Interior Ministry and the Labour and Social Policy Ministry in dealing with and assisting street children.
The first workshop took place in Skopje on 6 October 2011 and was opened by the Deputy Head of OSCE Mission to Skopje, Ambassador Natalya Drozd, Interior Minister Gordana Jankulovska and the Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Spiro Ristovski.
Under the project, police officers, social workers and representatives of non-governmental organizations and local self-government bodies will outline joint initiatives at the local and regional level and discuss possible solutions to problems related to street children.
The workshops follow the Mission’s activities last year aimed at promoting the social inclusion of the Roma community and at raising police awareness of Roma-specific safety issues.
