OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission to Skopje trains civil servants on public administration reform

SKOPJE, 20 October 2010 - Newly-recruited civil servants from state institutions will be trained on equitable representation and public administration reform as part of an OSCE-supported project, launched in Skopje today.
The trainings will be conducted by the OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission to Skopje in close co-operation with the Secretariat for the Implementation of the Ohrid Framework Agreement (SIOFA).
Sixty civil servants will participate in the first course starting today, and in total 350 civil servants will be trained from November 2010 through November 2011.
A memorandum of understanding on this project was signed today by the Head of the OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission to Skopje, Ambassador Jose Luis Herrero and the Vice Prime Minister on Implementation of the Ohrid Agreement Abdulaqim Ademi.
"The OSCE Spillover Monitoring Mission to Skopje has continually provided assistance on matters related to equitable representation to the Secretariat for the Implementation of the Ohrid Framework Agreement (SIOFA). It is important to train civil servants on all aspects of public administration activities, encouraging them to focus on people's capacities, rather than on figures," said Herrero.
Vice Prime Minister Ademi added: "The SIOFA is happy to co-operate with the OSCE Mission in training the newly-recruited civil servants to develop their skills in the area of public administration reform, which will benefit and facilitate their future work."
