Prosecutors Discuss Legal Reform
SKOPJE 31 March 2003
SKOPJE, 31 March 2003 - More than 80 public prosecutors gathered over the past weekend in Star Dojran to participate in a legal seminar facilitated by the OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission to Skopje.
The event, which was organized by the Association of Public Prosecutors, is part of a series of seminars funded by the OSCE Mission with the aim of developing recommendations for the reform of the Law on the Prosecutor.
"We believe that a society that enforces its laws in an equal and fair manner reduces the potential for conflict and for corruption", said Mark Shepherd, Rule of Law Officer at the OSCE Mission. "We are happy to have been able to develop a relationship with the prosecutors association, a forward thinking organization which cares about its members and drives reform."
The event was attended by representatives of the International Organization for Migration, the Council of Europe and the European Commission Justice and Home Affairs Team.
