OSCE Skopje Mission co-organizes business training for young entrepreneurs
SKOPJE 6 March 2003
SKOPJE, 6 March 2003 - Twenty-five young future entrepreneurs from six municipalities in the Macedonian Kicevo valley will participate on Saturday, 8 March, in a teaching workshop to develop creative business concepts and the basic elements of drafting a small business plan.
The "Youth Entrepreneur Workshop" in Kicevo is being co-organized by the OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission to Skopje and the Southeast Europe Enterprise Development (SEED).
Shaun Barcavage, Good Governance Project Officer at the OSCE Mission, considers such workshops to be a good way to build bridges between youth from various ethnic communities in the country. "We are bringing young people together to explore areas of common interest in a fun and light-hearted learning environment. Business has always been one sector of society that connected people in the Balkans," he says.
The workshop series is sponsored by the OSCE and the SEED. The SEED is a non-profit organization affiliated with the World Bank working to develop small and medium size enterprises in the region.
As part of its work with secondary schools and community leaders, the OSCE Mission is intending to organize several such seminars throughout the country to promote inter-ethnic dialogue among young people, as well as good business practices.
