OSCE Skopje Mission offers legal training focusing on European human rights convention
SKOPJE, 21 April, 2005 - A training course for lawyers on the European Convention on Human Rights will take place from 22 to 24 April in Ohrid.
It is being organized by the OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission to Skopje in co-operation with the Macedonian Young Lawyers Association and the Council of Europe (CoE).
The course will help participants identify cases that can be brought before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasburg.
It will also address such issues as the prohibition of torture, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, a person's right to liberty and security and the right to a fair trial.
Experts from the Council of Europe as well as local experts will offer experience in this field.
The seminar sessions will be moderated by Micheal Lackner, OSCE Rule of Law Officer/Judicial Reform and Petra Winter, CoE Programme Adviser.
