OSCE Mission to Skopje donates equipment to Interior Ministry as part of project to assess organized crime threat
The OSCE Mission to Skopje donated six computers to the Interior Ministry on 20 August 2014 as part of a project to improve the capacity of Criminal Investigation Directorates in the host country, Montenegro and Serbia to strategically analyse and assess the threat posed by organized crime.
Each country will nominate analysts who will receive the same equipment, software and hardware and undergo the same training programme with the aim of producing a standardized assessment report on the threat posed by organized crime in the three countries.
“This project will provide significant assistance to all three participating countries on their way towards establishing a comprehensive approach to fighting transnational threats and organized crimes at the national and regional level,” said Viacheslav Vorobiev, Head of the Public Safety and Community Outreach Department of the OSCE Mission to Skopje. “It is also a good example of strategic co-operation between law enforcement agencies in south-east Europe and horizontal co-operation between different OSCE missions in the region.”
The regional project is financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and implemented by the OSCE Mission to Serbia in co-operation with the OSCE Mission to Skopje and the OSCE Mission to Montenegro.
