OSCE Mission to Skopje promotes engagement of inter-ethnic youth in municipal decision making in Kumanovo
Some ten youngsters of different ethnic backgrounds together with representatives of Kumanovo municipality will discuss mechanisms how youth problems should be better addressed and actions jointly planned at an OSCE-supported seminar taking place in Mavrovo from 20 to 22 September.
The seminar aims at raising awareness about youth problems such as school violence, among Kumanovo local authorities, and further strengthening their co-operation with the Local Youth Council, a non-formal network of youth organizations established recently with OSCE support.
The NGO Centre for Intercultural Dialogue with support of the OSCE Mission to Skopje and the UNDP Office in Skopje is organizing the seminar, which will introduce the concept of structured dialogue to stimulate working relationship between various stakeholders in order to obtain useful results.
This seminar is part of the OSCE Mission’s efforts to improve security through monitoring political and inter-ethnic situation, and directly follows up on the ongoing OSCE-supported activities against school violence, which started in 2011 in this municipality.
