BELGRADE 13 November 2002
BELGRADE, 13 November 2002 - A Memorandum on Co-operation was signed today between the Serbian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the OSCE Mission to the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY).
This signing represented a continuation of the program of institutional capacity building in the ministry itself. It aims at the improvement of co-operation between ministries, agencies and NGOs.
The Serbian Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Dr. Andjelka Mihajlov, and the Acting Head of the OSCE Mission to the FRY, Mark Davison, signed the document, which will be the basis for the establishment of a body within this Ministry.
"This is an agreement of great importance, setting up as it does an 'inter-agency co-operation task force' within the Ministry for Natural Resources and Environment. The Mission stands ready to support the task force in every way possible," said Mark Davison.
The purpose of this body is to achieve greater co-operation between ministries, as well as to ensure efficient co-ordination of activities with expert institutions and international organizations.
