OSCE hosts first meeting of Serbian, Montenegrin and Yugoslav co-ordinators on human trafficking

BELGRADE, 26 August 2002 - The OSCE Mission to the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) today hosted the first meeting of the Serbian, Montenegrin and Yugoslav governmental co-ordinators for combating of trafficking in human beings. The aim of this meeting was to initiate a dialogue in order to harmonize the work of the three multidisciplinary teams.
Combating human trafficking and the respect of the rights of its victims is one of the OSCE's priorities as declared in the Vienna Ministerial Meeting in 2000.
The OSCE Mission to the FRY, which has made combating trafficking a high priority, and its office in Podgorica welcome the co-operation between the three teams and the governmental co-ordinators, which will enhance the co-operation between Serbia and Montenegro.
