Scholarship for Peace & Security 2022
11 November 2022
The 2022 Scholarship for Peace and Security in-person course on conflict prevention and resolution took place from 7 to 11 November 2022. Forty-four young female professionals from 39 OSCE participating States and Partners for Co-operation are provided with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge on arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation in the OSCE area.
The programme included sessions dedicated to the conflict cycle and practical implementation of arms control commitments in the context of OSCE-relevant instruments; as well as learning about the work of other international organizations in Vienna: the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs, IAEA, CTBTO, Wassenaar Arrangement, UNODC, UNOOSA, and others. In addition, the course aimed to provide a better understanding of career opportunities in the security sector, empowering women and youth to meaningfully engage in the security sector, especially in the politico-military field.
