The monograph "Rights of Humanity" was developed by Iryna Ivankiv - the national rule of law adviser at OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, senior lecturer at the department of theory of law and public law of National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy," Ph.D. in Law, LL.M in Rule of Law for Development.
In the monograph, the author explores humanity's rights as special solidarity rights of the third generation, which include the right to peace, healthy environment and sustainable development. Also, she analyzes existing and potential mechanisms for their protection. According to the author's point of view, each of humanity's rights is both the foundation for human rights and a sort of "umbrella" that ensures human rights protection. The author considers humanity's rights as a logical continuation of the rights of the first and second generations, which develop and complement them.
This monograph is the first comprehensive legal theoretical study of humanity's rights and their connection to human rights. The book will benefit scientists, teachers, students of law universities and faculties, as well as anyone interested in the development of ideas of human rights and philosophy of law.
