Participatory dialogue
The Programme Office fosters thematic policy-oriented discussion forums amongst officials, parliamentarians and civil society across the country. It supports the efforts in identifying solutions to pressing social issues and seeks to increase citizens' confidence to participate in the public and political life of the country. The Programme Office also supports the active participation of Tajik parliamentarians in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly meetings and seminars.
Another main area of the Programme Office’s work, in line with the UN Security Council Resolution 2250 (2015), is enhancing the knowledge and skills of youth so they can participate in the political and decision-making processes. This includes training courses to develop their critical thinking abilities. Courses also teach how best to express their opinions, speak in public, and openly communicate and negotiate. This also includes supporting the capacity-building of regional youth networks. One such network is the Network by Consensus, an initiative that unites more than 600 alumni of the Programme Office’s youth events from all over Central Asia. The network creates a platform for young people to share, inspire and motivate their peers. The Office works with young people through the Network to equip them with knowledge and skills to play a constructive role as active citizens, and to reach their aspirations in public life, business and civil society.
