OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe conducts train-the-trainer event for Tajik border officers
An OSCE-supported two-week train-the-trainer event for twenty-four officers from the Tajik Border Troops concluded on 8 December 2017.
The main aim of the course was to increase the participants’ training skills and improve their capacity to develop training materials. They learned about developing curricula, programmes and lesson plans and how to conduct training sessions. Other topics covered by the course were management skills, public speaking, programme planning and the principles of active learning. The course also raised awareness on gender and human rights issues.
“The Programme Office in Dushanbe is helping to improve the capacity of the Tajik Border Troops in a sustainable way by focusing on providing high quality training seminars and technical equipment,” said Vyacheslav Abramets, Border Management Officer at the OSCE Office’s Politico-Military Department, at the graduation ceremony. “The issue of border security is very important for Tajikistan and for the region as a whole. The OSCE continues to support efforts to enhance the capacity of Tajik Border Troops by providing training courses."
