Handover ceremony on installation of energy efficient devices in secondary school #11, Nurek city
In 2015 the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe organised and conducted a study tour for government officials from the Committee on Environment Protection, Ministry of Economy and Trade and Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan to learn best practices in implementing the green economy principles. Visiting the Vychaslav secondary school, located in Arshalyn district, Akmola region, Kazakhstan where energy efficiency devices had been applied was in the agenda of the study tour. While visiting the school, representatives of the above mentioned government agencies expressed a wish to establish such a school in one of the regions of Tajikistan. To meet this request the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe in cooperation with the Committee on Environment Protection in January and February 2017 selected a secondary school that would be appropriate for installation of energy efficient devices. One of the criteria for school selection was the willingness of the local government and local department of Ministry of Education for cooperation. A Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of this activity was signed with the Committee on Environment Protection on 28 June 2017.
