Tajik law enforcement officers complete OSCE training course on risk management analysis

A five-day training course organized by the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe on risk management analysis for officers from law enforcement agencies in Tajikistan concluded on 24 November 2017.
During the course, which was held in Dushanbe, 22 officers from the Tajik Border Troops, the Tajik Customs Service, the Drug Control Agency and the Interior Ministry learned about risk management concepts. The course was delivered by an international expert and a representative of the OSCE Secretariat (Border Security and Management Unit) in Vienna, and focused on how to identify and handle threats, the decision-making process in crisis situations and business continuity planning. Participants were also introduced to international disaster programmes.
During the graduation ceremony, Vyacheslav Abramets, Border Management Officer at the OSCE Office’s Politico-Military Department, said: “The Programme Office in Dushanbe is helping to improve the capacity of Tajikistan’s border and security agencies by developing their operational risk management skills in order to be well co-ordinated and professional during crisis situations.”
The course was organized in support of the implementation of Tajikistan’s National Border Management Strategy and is part of a series of training courses aimed at increasing the capacity of Tajikistan’s border-related agencies as part of the Border Management Unit’s activities this year.
