Acting Kyrgyz President Bakiev to address OSCE Permanent Council on Monday with OSCE Chairman
VIENNA, 25 May 2005 - Kyrgyzstan's Acting President Kurmanbek Bakiev will address a special session of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna on Monday, 30 May, with the OSCE Chairman, Slovenia's Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel.
Bakiev, who is also Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, is expected to brief the OSCE's main regular decision-making body on current issues including the joint Kyrgyz-OSCE workplan, developed after the 24 March events, to support stability and security in Kyrgyzstan, and the state of preparations for the 10 July presidential election.
Media representatives are invited to the opening of the Permanent Council session at 10:00 in the Neuer Saal of the Hofburg Congress Centre to hear Acting President Bakiev deliver his speech, followed immediately by Minister Rupel.
Bakiev will also hold a press conference at 12:00 in Segmentgalerie I.
For admittance to the Hofburg Congress Centre, please bring your OSCE accreditation badge or a valid press card to the security desk (main entrance from the Heldenplatz). Parking space is available for the press between 9:00 and 14:30 on Monday, 30 May, in the OSCE-reserved parking area on Heldenplatz. Temporary parking permits must be collected from the security desk.
