Prior to taking up the agenda, the Chairperson, on behalf of the Permanent Council, welcomed the new Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the OSCE, H.E. Ambassador Sanjin Halimović. The Chairperson, Azerbaijan, the United States of America, the Russian Federation, Luxembourg-European Union, Norway, the Holy See, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Ukraine and Canada extended their condolences to the families of the victims of the terrorist attack in Suruç, Turkey. Turkey thanked delegations for their expressions of condolences. Address by the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States, H.E. Ramil Hasanov. Address by the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries, H.E. Jandos Asanov. 2014 Annual Report by the Secretary General on the Implementation of OSCE Recruitment Policies. The Permanent Council adopted Decision No. 1176 on the theme, agenda and modalities for the 24th Economic and Environmental Forum. Ongoing aggression against Ukraine and violations of OSCE principles and commitments by the Russian Federation. Situation in Ukraine and the need to implement the Minsk agreements. Abduction and illegal detention of Ukrainian citizens by the Russian Federation. The death penalty in the United States of America. Report on the activities of the Chairperson-in-Office. Before taking up the agenda, the Chairperson, Ukraine, the Russian Federation and Mongolia remembered the 298 victims of the tragic crash of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, which occurred on 17 July 2014. The Netherlands thanked the Chairperson and the participating States for commemorating that tragedy and for their expression of condolences. 59th Joint Meeting of the Forum for Security Co operation and the Permanent Council
Prior to taking up the agenda, the Chairperson (PC) and several delegations, as well as the representative of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly expressed condolences to Tunisia (Partner for Co-operation) and France in connection with the recent terrorist attacks in those countries.
