Organized by
The general purpose is to discuss key substantive concerns raised at the previous Human Dimension Meetings regarding the implementation of OSCE human dimension commitments on selected topics and to ensure follow-up for them. The meeting also provides a platform for an exchange of views among OSCE participating States, OSCE institutions, other executive structures and international organizations, civil society, and other interested stakeholders.
Topic
The third Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting will focus on tolerance, non-discrimination, and gender equality, providing a platform to discuss the progress made in implementing OSCE commitments and exploring the impact of intolerance and discrimination, particularly on women and girls.
The first session will examine the impact of intolerance and discrimination on women and girls, especially those from vulnerable communities. The role of women in promoting tolerance and non-discrimination, as well as good practices in this field will be the focus of the discussion.
The second session will address the disproportionate impact of intolerance and discrimination on women and girls from national minority backgrounds and marginalized communities, including Roma and Sinti. The session will highlight good practices and strategies to combat hatred, including the use of technology and social media to promote positive narratives.
The third session will explore ways of mainstreaming gender to prevent and respond to hate crimes. Participants will discuss the importance of collecting detailed hate crime data, understanding the gendered aspects of hate crime, and ensuring victims receive appropriate support.
