International observers of Ukraine parliamentary elections to hold press conference Monday in Kyiv
KYIV, 26 March 2006 - The International Election Observation Mission deployed to monitor the Ukrainian parliamentary elections on Sunday, 26 March, will announce its preliminary findings and conclusions at a press conference at 13:30 on Monday, 27 March, at the Ukrainian House of Teachers, Volodymyrska 57.
The mission is a joint undertaking of the OSCE's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the Parliamentary Assemblies of the Council of Europe and NATO, and the European Parliament.
The mission includes 52 long-term observers, deployed throughout Ukraine since late January, 150 parliamentarians and some 700 short-term observers who will monitor activities on election day.
Please note: Immediately following the press conference, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe will hold a press conference at the same location announcing the conclusion of its observation of the country's local and regional elections, held on 26 March.
