Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting on the Promotion of Pluralism in New Media

This meeting will provide an opportunity for dialogue and an exchange of views between participating States, international organizations, the media, and civil society on opportunities and challenges faced by new media in the promotion of pluralism.
The meeting will address the topic of new media through the following three sessions:
- Challenges and opportunities for new media to foster pluralism;
- Regulatory aspects of the digital switchover;
- Internet regulation in the OSCE area: introduction of the first OSCE Internet matrix.
Recommendations may be addressed to participating States; the OSCE as a whole; OSCE institutions, including the Office of the Representative on Freedom of the Media; OSCE field operations; and other inter-governmental organizations, as well as the media and civil society actors in OSCE participating States.
Online registration for all participants is available at: http://meetings.odihr.pl. Participants wishing to attend are requested to register by Wednesday, 6 July 2011. After the deadline participants will be still able to register on the spot. Registered participants will be able to collect their badges as of Thursday, 7 July 2011, from 9.00 in the Hofburg Congress Centre, in the main entrance hall.
