ODIHR needs assessment mission to visit Estonia
Following an invitation to observe the parliamentary elections in Estonia scheduled for 6 March 2011, ODIHR will send a needs assessment mission to the country on 10-13 January.
The purpose of the mission is to assess the pre-election environment and the preparations for the elections, as well as to recommend whether ODIHR should undertake any further activity related to the elections, such as the deployment of an observation or assessment mission, for example.
Members of the needs assessment mission will meet with representatives of the National Election Commission, the Supreme Court, the Chancellery of Justice, the parliamentary Anti-Corruption Enforcement Committee, and the Broadcasting Council, as well as representatives of political parties, the mass media and civil society.
