Learning and moving forward together: the OCEEA webinar series
Beyond its devastating implications in the domain of public health, the COVID-19 pandemic poses an unprecedented threat to economy, security and stability. The crisis has strongly challenged the role of governments, multilateral organizations, civil society and the private sector, as well as co-operation at all levels. A better understanding of the sheer consequences of COVID-19 is essential to rebuild trust, restore collaborative approaches and move forward towards an inclusive and sustained recovery.
The Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities (OCEEA), with the support of experts and practitioners from national governments, think tanks, international organizations, the private sector and the academic world, is organizing a series of webinars to discuss the economic and environmental impact of COVID-19 and how the OSCE could support its participating States in coping with and recovering from the crisis.
Regional and international organizations, such as the OSCE, have an important role to play in facilitating dialogue, supporting co-operation, bridging divides among countries. This is the key message delivered by Ambassador Thomas Greminger, OSCE Secretary General, Ambasador Vuk Žugić, Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities and Ambassador Igli Hasani, Chaiperson of the OSCE Permant Council on the occasion of the beginning of a series of webinars organised by the Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities (OCEEA).
