Gender equality principles in education focus of OSCE Mission to Montenegro supported workshop
Gender equality principles in education, with a particular focus on protection against discrimination and domestic violence, were the focus of a workshops organized for a group of 20 Faculty of Philosophy students, Montenegro University, on 11 October and 25 October 2014, in Nikšić.
The workshop, organized by the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, in co-operation with the University of Montenegro’s Faculty of Philosophy, and initiated by Professor Mirjana Popović, was the first to deal with the specific gender issues addressing Montenegrin academic youth.
The content of the workshop was designed to provide a broad overview of the gender equality concept, its legal framework and the main issues related to discrimination and domestic violence in Montenegro. The workshop was also interactive which enabled students to openly discuss and challenge stereotypes. The Mission will continue with similar workshops in 2015.
