OSCE Mission to Montenegro supports Parliamentary programme on youth education
The Democracy Workshop project, implemented by Montenegro’s Parliament, is designed as a program of civic education with young students. Through an interactive program and in a manner suitable to their age, with the help of selected and trained teachers and trainers, children from eight to fifteen years of age learn through play how democracy functions. The children write about their obtained knowledge and experience in journalistic essay or present it in the form of a radio or TV broadcast.
Recognizing the important role and contribution youth can have for constructive development in the country, the OSCE Mission to Montenegro is supporting Parliament in strengthening their programme of democracy workshops. A new module on human rights is being developed, for which the Mission engaged two experts to support the trainers. Together they are developing materials for children and a training manual. The first training was held from 17 to 19 July in Podgorica.
