CHISINAU, 18 November 2004 - "Be seen - be safe!" is the motto of an OSCE Mission to Moldova action that began today with the distribution of more than 15,000 reflectors to schools throughout the country.
The reflectors will be handed out by Mission Members to pupils from the first to the fourth grades in more than fifty schools in 14 localities, including the capital and the Gagauz and Transdniestrian regions. They carry the OSCE logo and the motto of the campaign in Romanian and Russian.
"Children who carry these reflectors, will enjoy more safety on their way to school, " said Ambassador William Hill, Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, after handing over the first set of reflectors to pupils from "C.Sibirski" lyceum in Chisinau. "We hope both children and parents will understand the importance of being more visible for safety reasons".
