Russian military equipment train leaves Transdniestria

CHISINAU, 17 December 2002 - The OSCE Mission to Moldova has again verified the loading of a train in Tiraspol with Russian military equipment destined for Russia.
The train consisted of 47 open platforms loaded with 77 military trucks. Additionally, there were two closed wagons that carried spare parts for the trucks and a wagon for the guards who escort the transport. There was no ammunition within this trainload.
The train departed from Tiraspol in the evening of 16 December, after verification by the mission the previous day.
This was the fourth train loaded with military materials to leave the Transdniestrian region of Moldova for Russia. Two of these trains have transported military equipment, the other two ammunition.
