OSCE Chairperson Lajčák visits the Institute for Rehabilitation of Children and Youth
During his visit to North Macedonia on 19 June 2019, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Miroslav Lajčák visited the Institute for Rehabilitation of Children and Youth in Skopje. The Institute had received a grant from the OSCE Mission’s Building Bridges programme to support work on the inclusion of youth with disabilities and the integration of students with different background. Students from the Institute and its partner, the primary school Rajko Zinzifov, told the Chairperson-in-Office about their positive experiences participating in activities with students from different ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities.
The Building Bridges Fund was established in 2014 in response to the persisting trend of communal separation that is reinforced by education system fully separated along linguistic lines. The project has been supported by Austria, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Slovakia, Switzerland and the United States.
