11 July 2019
On 26 June, one of the OSCE Mission to Serbia’s longstanding partners, the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa, organized a study visit to Belgrade for primary school students from the three south Serbia municipalities. As a part of the visit, a mixed group of ethnic Albanian, Roma and Serbian students went on a Belgrade sightseeing cruise on rivers Sava and Danube.
The Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, Ambassador Andrea Orizio, joined the boat trip where he addressed some 160 students, emphasizing the importance of creating good conditions for connecting the communities living in south Serbia and promoting inter-culturalism as a value. The OSCE Mission to Serbia supports Serbia in its efforts to promote inclusive education based on the principles of tolerance, partnership, and dialogue. As the only permanent international presence in the region, the OSCE Mission facilitates the interaction between the communities living in this part of Serbia.
