OSCE Mission to Moldova
What we do
The Mission facilitates a comprehensive and lasting political settlement of the Transdniestrian conflict based on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova with a special status for Transdniestria within Moldova.
To this end, the Mission engages in diplomacy – mostly quiet diplomacy – to facilitate negotiations and dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol. As part of its conflict prevention and resolution efforts, the Mission also gathers information on the situation in the Security Zone.
The Mission, in close co-operation with the OSCE institutions, also pursues a range of other activities including the promotion of human and minority rights, and a culture of tolerance, as well support for democratic transformation, including through the strengthening of the rule of law principles, which are important corollary issues to the settlement process.
