Education for Social Justice training concludes in Zvornik, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Zvornik, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 4 October 2017 – An Education for Social Justice training for primary schools, organized by the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), concluded on 4 October 2017 in Zvornik, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In two one-day training events, some 50 participants from all Zvornik primary schools and their branch schools, including educators, representatives of parents’ councils and members of the schools’ management, learned about recognizing and combating prejudices and stereotypes, with a view to developing a pro-active approach to fighting prejudices and stereotypes in their community.
“Zvornik schools will greatly benefit from the Education for Social Justice training and the support they provide to inclusive school development,” said Nihad Mesic, Education Officer at the OSCE Mission. “Increasing the capacity of educators and other actors in the field of social justice and cohesion will improve inclusiveness and prevent discrimination of minorities and marginalized social groups in schools and the community.”
The training was conducted as part of a series of Education for Social Justice training events being held across BiH. Their aim is to improve the inclusiveness of schools and develop capacities for change and improvement in the area of social justice on personal, professional and institutional levels.
