OSCE Mission organizes conference on the state of online media in Kosovo
Prishtinë/Priština, 29 May 2017 – The OSCE Mission in Kosovo will hold a conference on the state of online media in Kosovo. The conference will gather journalists, representatives of online media, journalists’ associations, media self-regulatory bodies and civil society and will be held tomorrow in Prishtinë/Priština.
The aim of the conference is to assess the state of online media, particularly online portals operating in Kosovo, and the effectiveness of the self-regulation of these portals. Participants will also address challenges related to copyright, treatment of minors by online media and the proliferation of “fake news”. They will produce a set of recommendations on how to address these challenges.
Dane Koruga, Chief of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo Media Section, Xhevahire Izmaku, former Chairperson of the Assembly Committee for Public Administration, Local Governance and Media, and Imer Mushkolaj, Chairperson of the Board of the Press Council of Kosovo will deliver opening remarks.
